「～馴染みの場所に縛り続ける」と未来完了形にしたほうが良かったか。

なぜ"would"を使うのだろうか。仮定法だろうか。
それとも、"will"だと確度が高すぎるからちょっとマイルドにしたのだろうか。

(2) If he is honest, he will give me the money back.(1) は仮定法過去の形です。つまり話し手は「（話している時点で）彼が正直ではない」と思っているわけです。このように、現在の事実に反すると話し手が判断しているときには仮定法を使います。(1) は「もし仮に彼が正直なら（そうではないと思うけど）」という意味を表します。
(2) の is、will give のような動詞の形を直説法といいます。直説法は、述べられている事柄に対して、そうである可能性がある（と話し手が判断する）ときに使います。(2) では「（わからないけれど）もし彼が正直なら」という意味を表します。
なるほど直接法というのか。
仮定法だと現実ではそうでないというニュアンスになってしまうからおかしいと思った。
